Early Acoustic Song Recordings 2019 - 2021

I wanted to do a compilation of the audio from home video recordings I did in 2020, especially in April. These were sparse, raw recordings done in my front room, just vocal, guitar with one microphone and recorded pretty much just after the songs were written. However, going through my files I also came across other recordings I did on video in 2021 and also some early audio song ideas from 2019, still just vocal and guitar, and so decided to put these in the compilation too.

Some of the songs in this collection I worked and developed on at a later time and which are featured on albums I home produced in 2021, 2022 and 2023. There are also some tracks on here which I haven’t returned to at time of writing and some reworking of songs I wrote prior to 2019, which I did home videos for and where I generally kept the original lyrics but did a different melody.

Though really a reference and a record for me, I felt some listeners might find it interesting hearing songs in their early stages and hopefully, enjoy them, hence me sharing them publicly. The track listing is in chronological order.

Information on tracks in more detail:

2019

Tracks 1 to 10 are early audio song ideas from 2019. Track 10 was developed and features on the album ‘I’m A Human’ from 2022. The others I have not returned to at time of writing

2020 - 2021

Tracks 11 to 29 are audio from home video recordings I did in 2020, mostly from April. Track 11 was developed with Paul Kolinski as a recording in March 2020. Tracks 19 to 21 were developed and also feature on the album ‘I’m A Human’ from 2022. Tracks 19 and 21 also feature as acoustic versions on ‘My Autumn Is On Its Way’ from 2021.Tracks 18, 28 and 29 are tracks I haven’t returned to at time of writing. Tracks 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 are reworking older material.

Tracks 30 to 36 are audio from video recordings. Tracks 33 and 35 I haven’t returned to. The rest of the tracks I have developed since. Tracks 32, 34 and 36 feature on ‘I’m A Human’ and tracks 30 and 31 on ‘Out To Lunch (2022).’ All these tracks (and track 31) are also recorded as acoustic versions on ‘My Autumn Is On Its Way.’ Tracks 31 and 32 are a reworking of older pre 2019, songs.
