It's a strange fascination I have with the news I can't seem to stop watching As if I don't have the choice to choose I have to search out the headlines I need to get my fix Lose myself in a language That makes my whole being sick I can't divert my eyes I must be hypnotised I can't divert my eyes Even though I know it's all lies It's such a dumb distraction It's beyond absurd To find myself saturated Getting buried in all this dirt I can't divert my eyes I must be hypnotised I can't divert my eyes Even though I know it's all lies It's a strange fascination I have with the news I can't seem to stop watching As if I don't have the choice to choose

I'm A Human 03:34
I am here Under this sun Living as A human I am wired A certain way To be aware Of this place I'm a human I'm a human Very quickly I settled in With these senses And this skin Is it genes Memories Passed on down The centuries? I'm a human I'm a human Sometimes I gets so blasé As if I'm always going to be this way I'm a human I'm a human

Waiting 03:13
You thought that you Were doing fine But there's something Inside, just waiting It's a feeling That things ain't enough There's something In your gut, just waiting Oh, Just waiting A sense of fear A sense of dread Something brewing In your head Waiting You feel so empty Unfulfilled But at least you have Some kind of will Waiting A sense of fear A sense of dread Something brewing In your head Waiting Waiting Waiting Waiting

You want truth Don't want no lies But the devil's loose And he's going wild He'll make you lose Your heart and mind There's nowhere to run No place to hide Oh, the devil's loose And he's going wild You can't reason With the blind You'll just weaken While they climb Beware of those In disguise The devil's loose It's now his time Oh, the devil's loose And he's going wild Don't let it Don't let it Don't let it slide Keep it together Together inside - Inside Yeah, you want truth Don't want no lies But the devil's loose And he's going wild Oh, the devil's loose And he's going wild Don't let it Don't let it Don't let it slide Keep it together Together inside - Inside The devil's loose (he's in disguise) The devil's loose (but just look in their eyes) The devil's loose (he's in disguise) The devil's loose (but just look in their eyes)

Here in this world On this land and sea I'm still working out Where I'm meant to be Once I was okay I let things go their way Then I learnt the time And I learned your ways I used to see the light I used to look up at the sky I thought that I could fly I never asked the reasons why Once a time I knew I came out the blue I never saw the lines I was just passing through I used to see the light I used to look up at the sky I thought that I could fly I never asked the reasons why

I don't know why You make me so mad Why I can't just walk away Why I let you play your games I don't know why I let you get to me Why I can't just let it be Erase you from my memory I don't know why I don't know why You get inside I don't know why You make me so crazy You make me want to scream I don't know why You get such a kick From making someone feel bad Making someone feel sick I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why You get inside I don't know why You make me so crazy You make me want to scream I don't know why You make me so mad Why I can't just walk away Why I let you play your games I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why

Hold On 02:49
Hold on You're moving too fast to reason Have you looked at all the information Do you know what's going on? Hold on You're being too rash with your decisions Do you really know the situation Do you know what's going on? Hold on Hold on Hold on Hold on Take some time to do some thinking Try to stop yourself from blinking And see what's going on Hold on Hold on Hold on Tomorrow seems so far away You're thinking only of today Hold on You're moving too fast to reason Have you looked at all the information Do you know what's going on? Tomorrow seems so far away You're thinking only of today Hold on Hold on Hold on
9.
There's something in your heart That wants to speak to you Trying real hard To get through It's tapping at your door Calling out to you But you're lost in your thoughts And all the hullabaloo There's something in your heart Waiting to bloom It just needs your time It just needs some room There's something in your heart Something in your heart There's something In your heart
10.
You've got to turn things around Get your feet off the ground Too long you have been down (Too long you've been down) You need to see the world anew And stop the things that you do Which make you feel blue (Which make you feel blue) Where will you be If you don't change? Where will you be If things stay the same? You can break away From the person that you made And find another way (Find another way) Where will you be If you don't change? Where will you be If things stay the same Turn things around Turn things around Turn things around Turn things around Turn things around Turn things around

Get Downtown 01:58
I have to rock 'n' roll Hit the street Get my mojo workin' And move my feet And get down Get Downtown I'm a simple soul There's not a lot I need But I have to have My poetry And get down Get Downtown When I hear that switch come on I know we're gonna have a lot of fun And when I hear those drums kick in I've gotta boogie woogie I've gotta sing I have to rock 'n' roll Hit the street Get my mojo workin' And move my feet And get down Get Downtown When I hear that switch come on I know we're gonna have a lot of fun And when I hear those drums kick in I've gotta boogie woogie I've gotta sing I'm a simple soul There's not a lot I need But I have to have My poetry And get down Get Downtown Get down Get Downtown Get down Get Downtown Get down Get Downtown

It's there in your eyes It's there in your smile It's a feeling you can't hide It's there in the way you walk It's there in the way you talk It's a feeling you can't hide It's a feeling - You can't hide Now that it's been revealed You know that it's real, it's true It was always waiting there Inside of you (Please don't lose it) All around you there's a glow From your head down to your toes It's a feeling you can't hide It's a feeling - You can't hide Now that it's been revealed You know that it's real, it's true It was always waiting there Inside of you (Please don't lose it) It's there in your eyes It's there in your smile It's a feeling you can't hide It's a feeling - You can't hide

And Begin... 03:22
Take out the trash in your mind Take out the stone from your heart Take out the sleep from your eyes And take in the wonder of the stars Take out the fibs from your lips Take out the wax from your ear Take out the plug in your gut And take in the wonder of being here Throw the old guests out Bring the new guests in O, kick the devil out And let the music in Take out the trash in your mind Take out the stone from your heart Take out the sleep from your eyes And take in the wonder of the stars Throw the old guests out Bring the new guests in O, kick the devil out And let the music in And begin

about

Album recorded at home, April/May 2022
Tomar, Portugal

After simplifying things to the bare minimum of just guitar and vocals last year to get back to the essence of things (get away from the 'Noise' as it were) , I wanted to return to making a fuller sound, indulgently for the enjoyment of experimenting, playing around and challenging myself to what can be done with the limited equipment I have at home to achieve this (a Nano keyboard, microphone and music software), then, a concept came into play, and things evolved from there.

I will be brief about this, as it is always best to leave the listener to their own interpretation of things rather than have some fully formed explanation, but I will say, simply, that the narrative, as a whole, is that of self and outer examination, resulting in a realisation. This narration can be viewed as an internal conversation, from the viewpoint of a character or characters or whatever the listener decides, themselves even, if they feel I have tapped into something that is relatable. I'm a sucker for details as well, and therefore, I think it is worth mentioning the cover as an example of this, where the words are a computer font emulating handwriting declaring 'I'm a human!'

Personally, I love melody, and I am particular to what sounds I like for my own listening pleasure, but there's a little gremlin in me that likes to kind of sabotage things, for many reasons, usually humour! There is also a nostalgia for the 80's and so I use some pretty standard 80's electronic sounds in places, primarily to echo happy childhood days.

Regards 'Electronic' music, it is admittedly a polarising form (I'm generalising what electronic music is, or perceived to be ), and taste is taste, I guess, but for me, especially, regarding this, it's more about the idea and what is being expressed and I kind of approach music making in the same way I do visual art. What do I have at hand that I can use to convey something? Oh, that will do. Let's see what happens (Collage is a good example). The debate about 'musicianship' or playing 'real instruments' etc. therefore, is irrelevant to me.

I do however, hope I have conveyed some beauty and that the human can be heard in this world of 'computer' sounds (sounds being introduced into our consciousness from the manipulation of nature by humans), because the human, I believe, can never be authentically replaced. That, in short, is the message (Yeah, it's a paradox).

It's got some pretty danceable tunes on it too!

Be true to yourself

Cheers
